Grand Quest Season 3 Open Forum – Challenging Questions for the Future of Science and Technology

2025-11-19l Hit 12

“Great research begins with an extraordinary question.”

At this moment, many students and researchers stand before two fundamental questions:
“What research will I pursue?”
“What kind of question has the power to reshape my era?”

We invite you to explore these questions at the Grand Quest Season 3 Open Forum.

Hosted by the SNU Institute for Future Strategy, the Grand Quest Project is an initiative that seeks bold, high-risk, and high-impact scientific and technological questions—problems that remain unsolved, yet, if addressed, could fundamentally transform existing paradigms.

In Seasons 1 and 2, a total of 20 grand challenges were identified, with 10 presented each season.

At the Season 3 Open Forum, new questions posed by emerging researchers will be unveiled across five fields:
Life Sciences, Energy, Space, Robotics, and Industrial AI.

If you are a student searching for a future research topic, or a researcher interested in the direction of next-generation science and technology, this event may offer valuable insights—and perhaps the starting point for your next defining question.
