> January 13 (Monday) - Session 1
The first lecture was delivered by alumnus Professor Shim Dong-nyeok (Assistant Professor, Department of Industrial Engineering, Konkuk University). He shared his unique experience of having different advisors for his master’s and doctoral programs, and discussed the diverse opportunities he had at TEMEP. He particularly highlighted the keys to his success in joining national research institutions and policy research centers, as well as his decision to pursue a teaching career. With deep empathy for students' career concerns, he provided practical advice based on his multifaceted experiences.

The second lecture was given by alumnus Dr. Lee Hwarang, who earned his PhD under Professor Koo Yoon-mo’s guidance and is now affiliated with the Korea Institute of Energy Research. He introduced the institute and presented policy trends related to carbon-neutral energy technologies. He briefly shared a case study from his doctoral research, where he developed an integrated energy system model and analyzed its effects when applied to the steel industry. Dr. Lee also explained how this research led to his position at the Korea Institute of Energy Research and detailed his current work in the Policy Research Office, including budget reviews for national R&D projects and analyses of alignment between business and technology roadmaps.
> January 17 (Friday) - Session 1
The first lecture of the second day was led by alumnus Kang Dong-woo (Samsung SDI, Product Planning Team), who introduced his unique career focused on battery research. He shared insights from his academic journey and described his current responsibilities, which include analyzing market trends, client products, and strategies. Additionally, he provided practical tips for job preparation after completing a master’s degree, emphasizing the importance of carefully considering roles that suit one’s aptitude.
