- Abstract:
EGI(www.egi.eu) is the federation of compute and storage resource providers, united by the mission of delivering advanced computing and data analytics services for research and innovation. The EGI Federation is coordinated by the EGI Foundation, a not-for-profit orginization that was established in 2010 to coordinate the EGI infrastructure for the benefit of European, and global science ecosystems. EGI federated and delivers a service portfolio based on its members' contributions. The presentation will showcase the EGI services through success stories that demonstrate value for international research, and will highlight some of the ongoing R&D projects that contribute to the further development of EGI towards AI, digital twins, Open Science and green computing
- Bio:
Gergely Sipos is the Head of the Services, Solutions and Support department at the EGI Foundation. He is responsible for the provisioning and innovation services owned by the EGI Foundation, and for overseeing the operational status of the EGI infrastructure. The three teams of his department, with the help of EGI's national e-infrastructures, perform user community engagement, requirement collection & analysis, service piloting and service customisation for communities, as well as deliver operational services, training and support. Gergely holds MSc and PhD in computer science with specialisation in management, from the University of Miskolc (Hungary).
